Professional Experience
In my early days as an occupational therapist, I have had experience working with adults and older adults with physical and cognitive impairment; supporting people to rebuild function and remain living safely and independently in the community through ADLs training, equipment prescription and home risk assessment. Over the years I have progressed to specialise in working with adults with lived experience of mental health issues and psychiatric illnesses. I am passionate about supporting people to feel safe and live a meaningful life, through goal setting, routine building, sensory modulation, building coping skills, sleep hygiene, relaxation/mindfulness techniques, and behavioural activation. I believe using a holistic approach - supporting the person's physical, psychological, and social needs, is the way to health and wellbeing.
